Went for a walk just now, trying to walk down streets I hadn't seen before, and half-hoping to get lost. I ended up at a place I knew, but confused between south and west. It's winter, so I guess the sun should have made it obvious, but I'm really awful at keeping track of which direction I'm facing. I'll call it semi-lost.
There's a kind of concrete park running along the banks of the river in which quite a few people were hanging out. More cities should have more public space, to combat the lack of community resulting from packing people so tightly together.
Laundry was hanging on trellises and spread out on the shrubbery. It might have been a laundry service using some rent-free drying space, or it might have just been common practice.
A small boat was anchored in the middle of the river behind a gate and two men inside were transfering the gunk and litter on the surface into their boat.
Most out of my experience was a man with a kitchen cleaver shaving the bristles off the handles of a bunch of used toothbrushes. Just like whittling down sticks.
