Questionably useful skills

Some skills that I've learned living here in the Shangri-La:

  1. Washing my hands with boiling water by pouring small amounts from large distances onto my hand. The hygenic quality of the hot water is probably canceled out and more by the low volume.
  2. Carrying around hot pots and pans by shifting the weight back and forth between two hands. Usually this is the hot but lower mass metal handle.
  3. Drawing water from a well by dropping a bucket upside down into it. I have no idea if this would be the "normal" way to draw water from one of them fancy pulley-enabled wells.
