It's a pet peeve of mine when people here assume that I've gone away just because they haven't seen me for a while. I always figured it was because I feel judged -- just because I haven't seen them as often as they're used to seeing people, that the only possible explanation is that I wasn't in town.

But I was thinking just now that the reason might actually be that it really gets on my nerves when when people are not just wrong (because I was actually here in town), but adamantly wrong.
