Dust on the CCD

I just had a thought this morning that an old dried out contact lens solution bottle would make a good substitute for a rubber blower as far as a tool for removing dust off the sensor in my camera. It even comes with its own cap. I wanted to buy a rubber blower the last time I was in Kunming but the one they had in the camera shop was so large that it frightened me.  After trying to clean my sensor, I understand that the ridiculously large bulb is so that you can generate enough sustained pressure with one hand.

I think I might have thrown my previous empty bottle away, but I'll go look and see if I have one that I could try out... Found one... But I had cut the tip off the tip at some point, so I'm not sure if the bottle has enough air in it with that wide hole to be of any use. Guess I'll just have to try it when it dries out.

So far my efforts have just put more dust on the sensor. *sigh*
