I just coastered two of the same DVD+R due to two successive power outages. Sometimes this city is so incredibly frustrating. I can just picture the worker not having any plan for fixing the electricity, and just turning the power for the city on and off when it was convenient like it was a light switch in their house.
It did finally percolate through my brain that since I've started using LVM (in addition to ext3), my main filesystem has always come up "clean" on boot. Previously, it always used to say "recovering journal" (and sometimes, something would still be screwed up after journal recorvery). I wonder if that's LVM doing something tricky, or features of newer versions of ext3, or the journal recovery tool being less precise.
