I've been introduced to a chain restaurant here in Kunming that serves Cantonese food. I went there today and ate 46元 worth of food, which is apparently ridiculous enough that they gave me a free calendar. Maybe it helped that I was there by myself, which is probably less common in China than in the U.S.
In uni, some of my classmates told me that I must have been confused about the fried noodles spelled "chow fun" in Hawaii, and that "炒饭" means fried rice. But I learned from the menu today that the noodles I ate in Hawaii were probably "炒河粉"
