I read Michael Crichton's State Of Fear the other day. Though most of the book states or suggests things that are technically correct, the logic in many of the arguments involved was awful.

Stephen Colbert ridiculed it on the Colbert Report. I'll include that here if I can ever find it on youtube.

But in the way that James Bond movies are thrilling even with outlandish premises, the book was indeed, in the words of the 50 or so reviews quoted in the first few pages, a "page-turner."
